How to Update Your Voter Registration Online in Under 5 Minutes

Have you moved to a new address within Georgia? Were you a registered voter at your old address? Do you have a Georgia driver’s license or ID? (An expired driver’s license still counts!)

Here’s how you can update your voter registration online within minutes:

Go to https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/welcome.do

Click on I Want To Register To Vote!

Click on Register to Vote Online Using Valid GA DL/ID#/Change Voter Information (on the bottom left)

Check all the boxes to verify that you are eligible to vote and click Begin Voter Registration.

Choose “Change Voter Registration” at the top of the page, check the box for “Address Change”, and fill in your county of residence, name, birthday, and driver’s license number.

Follow the prompts and fill in your new mailing address and confirm its accuracy.

Submit your registration and that’s it!

Your registration must be approved by your county registrar. You can check the status of your registration on your My Voter Page: https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/ You should receive a postcard in the mail listing your voting location in about a month.

Other ways to update your registration: You can print this form and mail it in (no stamp needed!), or you can pick up a form at a local library or your county registrar’s office at 130 Peachtree Street, Suite 2186. Atlanta, GA 30303.

North Fulton Democrats Launch Precinct Organizing Initiative

North Fulton Democrats Launch Precinct Organizing Initiative

Personal connections are the most effective way to get eligible voters involved in the political process, which motivated the North Fulton Democrats to create SCOPE–Steering Committee on Organizing Precincts for Elections.

A precinct is the smallest breakdown of the electoral process. It includes everyone within a geographical area that votes at the same location. Everyone within the precinct has the same representatives at the city, state and federal levels.

Precinct organizing helps to build connections and keep citizens engaged in politics year-around. It’s also an important grassroots arm of the Democratic Party. Volunteers in the precinct organizing program get to know their neighbors and learn what issues matter to them, which they can then communicate to candidates, current representatives and the Party so they can be better representations of their constituents. In return, volunteers also help communicate initiatives from candidates, current representatives and the Party to the voters, so they can keep up with issues and stay involved.

SCOPE volunteers organize events like candidate meet-and-greets, postcard parties, phone banking, as well as making sure neighbors are registered and reminding them to vote. This is a long-term network-building initiative that will have lasting effects beyond the 2018 Midterms, even beyond the 2020 Presidential Election.

Want to learn more? Click here to read our FAQ and sign up to be a volunteer! Precinct organizing fits into every schedule!

Get Ready to Vote on Election Day

Get Ready to Vote on Election Day

Do you know where to vote on Election Day? You must report to your assigned polling place, likely within your precinct. Which means that it’s unlikely that any of the early voting locations you’ve seen advertised over the past month are your actual polling place.

To find out where to go on Election Day, visit your My Voter Page. Once you log in using your First initial, last name, county and birthdate, you’ll see four boxes. Your polling place will be listed in the box on the top right.

Polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day. Take your government-issued ID with you. If you have any trouble voting, call our Voter Protection Hotline at 888-730-5816.

State Party Convention Delegates to be Elected on August 9

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, the Democratic Party of Georgia will be hosting its 2018 State Convention in Atlanta at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center. This is the Party’s opportunity to showcase our amazing candidates and do other important things like adopt our Party platform.

That means that we need to elect delegates to represent us at the convention. This will be done at our regular business meeting on August 9th, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the IBEW building downtown. The ONLY requirement to qualify as a delegate is that one must be a registered voter and resident of Fulton County, GA. You do not need be a member or Post Seat Holder to run for these positions.

You can qualify as a candidate to be a delegate by showing up to the meeting on August 9th or by filling out this google form: https://goo.gl/forms/9GakdOq9FZNzSdLm1

There are 40 open delegate seats and 20 alternate seats that will be open during this election. We will elect those seats in two different phases, each phase electing half. During the first phase, only Post Seat Holders will be able to vote. During the second phase, everyone at the meeting will be able to vote.

As more details about the convention become available, we will put them on the website and send them out via email.
Please contact membership@fultondems.org with any questions.
