2024 Election Statement

2024 Election Statement

It’s Okay to Feel How You Feel about the 2024 Election—But We Must Continue the Fight for Our Rights and Democracy

As the dust begins to settle on the 2024 election, it’s natural to feel a range of emotions. Whether you feel hopeful, disappointed, or simply exhausted, it’s important to remember that these feelings are valid. This election held significant stakes for our nation, with critical issues on the line, including voting rights, healthcare access, criminal justice reform, climate change policies, and economic equity.

However, this election is not the end—it is merely one step in the continuous journey of protecting our democracy and advancing the principles of justice, equity, and freedom. Democracy is not a one-day event, nor is it limited to any single election cycle. Every election is an opportunity to shape the future of our communities and uphold the values that matter most.

Now, it’s time to regroup, recharge, and prepare for the road ahead.

The Midterm Elections Are Around the Corner.

In just under two years, the 2026 midterm elections will present another critical moment for change. All 435 U.S. House of Representatives seats will be up for election, giving every congressional district in the country a chance to choose its representative.

Key U.S. Senate Seats Up for Reelection in 2026 include seats in states such as:

  • California
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Ohio
  • Florida
  • North Carolina
  • Wisconsin
  • Missouri

These races will be pivotal in determining the balance of power in the Senate and, by extension, the ability to pass legislation that addresses the needs and rights of all Americans.

Georgia on the Ballot in 2026

In Georgia, there will also be state elections, with state constitutional, senate and house seats up for election. These races will impact policies on a state level, including healthcare, criminal justice, public education, and voting rights. Local and state elections have a profound effect on our daily lives and often set the stage for national change. We also will have a US Senate race in 2026.  The time to prepare is now.
