This election cycle marked a turning point for Fulton County Democrats. Our party invested real resources, organized on the ground, and competed in races where Democrats have often been outspent or overlooked.

That work delivered a major breakthrough: Roswell elected Democrat Mary Robichaux as its next mayor, ending decades of Republican control in one of Georgia’s most historically conservative suburbs. Mary won because she centered her campaign on exactly what residents were asking for — transparent leadership, responsible development, safer communities, and a mayor who listens instead of talks past people. Her victory proves that when Democrats lead with competence and common-sense solutions, suburban voters move toward us.

We were proud to support strong Democratic candidates in Atlanta and Sandy Springs who stepped forward to run in challenging local environments. Thad Flowers and Dontaye Carter brought energy, integrity, and a commitment to inclusive, community-centered leadership. Their campaigns elevated issues that matter — affordability, safety, accountability, and opportunity — and ensured voters had clear choices grounded in Democratic values.

I’d like to extend my gratitude to our volunteers whose work enabled broader GOTV efforts across the county. From East Point to South Fulton, Atlanta City Council to School Board, no race was left unaccounted. All that hard work and support from our party enables democratic policies and candidates in Fulton. 

Local races are shaped by longstanding political dynamics, entrenched interests, and rapidly changing communities. Even where our candidates did not prevail, the groundwork laid this cycle has expanded our reach, strengthened our data, and deepened our relationships with voters across the county. That foundation matters; and we are building on it.

What remains constant is our commitment to candidates who tell the truth, govern responsibly, and work to bring people together across lines of race, faith, and neighborhood. We will continue to stand firmly against antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, and all forms of hate and stand firmly for leaders who engage communities with honesty, empathy, and respect.

This cycle made one thing unmistakable: when we invest early, organize consistently, and support candidates rooted in their communities, Democrats win in places that used to be written off. Roswell is proof.

As we move toward 2026, with critical races across the state and up and down the ballot, our focus is straightforward:

• Recruit and train more local candidates,
• Strengthen voter engagement and turnout infrastructure in every part of the county,
• Deepen relationships across communities, and
• Compete everywhere and not just where it’s easy.

Fulton County has long been the backbone of Georgia’s Democratic successes. We intend to keep it that way. We’re building the organization required to protect our gains, expand our map, and ensure Fulton continues to set the pace for Georgia’s Democratic future.
