Election Day

Polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM. Find your assigned precinct, know what to bring, and learn what to do if you need help.

· Polls are open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. If you are in line by 7 PM, you can still vote.

On Election Day you vote at your assigned precinct.

Early voting is over, and the early-voting sites no longer apply. Look up your precinct on the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page. It also shows your sample ballot.

Before you go

Step 1

Find your precinct

Your assigned precinct is the only place you can cast a regular ballot today.

Step 2

Bring photo ID

Georgia requires an acceptable photo ID to vote in person. Options are listed below.

Step 3

Vote the whole ballot

Review your sample ballot first so nothing on it is a surprise. Then take your time.

Any one of these photo IDs works

GA driver’s license

Or a free state voter ID card.

U.S. passport

Or a valid federal or state government photo ID.

Government employee or military ID

Or a valid tribal photo ID.

If you need help

Problems at the polls are common and usually fixable. Know these before you go.

Your name isn’t on the list

Ask the poll worker to check again, and confirm you are at the right precinct. If you believe you are registered, you can ask for a provisional ballot. Do not leave without voting or being told in writing what to do next.

You went to the wrong precinct

Poll workers can point you to the right one. Check My Voter Page first. Ask a poll worker what your options are if it is too late to get there before the polls close.

You don’t have acceptable ID

Ask for a provisional ballot. Provisional voters in Georgia generally have a few days after the election to present ID to the county elections office. Ask the poll worker for the exact deadline and where to bring it.

Long lines or a problem at the site

Stay in line. Anyone in line when the polls close at 7 PM may still vote. If equipment is down, you are being turned away, or you feel pressured, call the hotline below.
