Fulton County Democrats Endorse Sara Fuchs for House District 49

The Fulton County Democratic Party Executive Committee is proud to announce our full support for Sara Fuchs in the race for Georgia House District 49.

Sara steps into this race following the withdrawal of Teresa Lin, who announced Thursday that she is stepping back to focus on her health. Teresa was a dedicated candidate who laid real groundwork in this district, and we are grateful for her willingness to serve. We wish her continued strength and wellness.

In announcing her withdrawal, Teresa endorsed Sara to carry the campaign forward — and asked everyone who knocked a door or gave a dollar to her campaign to do the same for Sara. We echo that call wholeheartedly.

Sara is a strong public servant and leader. As former Chief of Staff to State Representative Betsy Holland, she brings six years of firsthand legislative experience working on behalf of constituents, and she managed Rep. Holland’s winning re-election campaigns in 2020 and 2022. She understands how to navigate the legislative process while tackling the issues that matter to families throughout North Fulton. Her commitment and expertise make her well prepared to serve the people of HD-49.

This seat has been held by the same representative for 23 years. Georgia Democrats are ten winnable seats away from flipping the State House and HD-49 is one of the races that gets us there.

Our volunteers across Fulton County, and especially in North Fulton, are committed to building the momentum to ensure Sara’s victory in November.
